PLT's and Technology

So this is not necessarily technology related, it is relevant and easily transitions into the application of technology. I have been doing some studies on Professional Learning Teams and ran across some great quotes. "the core mission of formal education is not simply to ensure that the students are taught but to ensure that they learn." (DuFour, 2004). I was also opened up to the real reason for PLT's meeting on a weekly basis. PLT's should lead to intervention instead of remediation. PLT's allow us to check more frequently on students progress and help them in the midst of learning rather than trying to clean up the mess afterward. How do we know if they need intervention and how can we help the ones who need it? I'm glad you asked... Technology could be the banjo in the bluegrass band for the student in need. Let technology help analyze our data and also support the student who needs help. Now technology is the tool that it was created for.
